AIM OF THE SERVICE
It is to deliver support using a holistic approach to empower people, build confidence and support learning new skills using different activities and the outdoors.

4. Motivating and increasing confidence in their ability by encouraging individuals to try new activities and set goals.
5. Increasing their awareness of working indoors and outdoors safely
6. Improving health and well-being with exercise and spending time in nature seeking to address health inequalities.

Please note that this fundraising Project has now ended. Thank you to those who donated, shared and supported us with this project. We have sent out a personal thank you to every donor.
It fills us with such warmth to know that even during these precedented and challenging times, people still went out of their way to back this project.
OVERVIEW: On 1st May 2023 we successfully raised £14,050 ( + est. £730.00 Gift Aid) with 46 supporters in 42 days! This means we raised a grand total of £14,780!!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, from all of us here at Empowering Futures.

We secured planning permission and many of you will be aware we had a structure built. We expected Phase 2 to be completed by now, so we could dedicate our time to delivering a much-needed service to the most vulnerable.
We did our due diligence checks and passed the construction to a competent builder (we were led to believe) who had experience with modular buildings!
Alas, we discovered, this was not the case and our building must be entirely dismantled.
This was and is still both shocking and devastating.
We want to alert anyone, who is having a garden building/modular building constructed to be aware, your building may need to meet Building Regulations. Most will not need Building Regulations, however, this leaves the responsibility for building standards with you.
Please be aware if the builder's guarantee is not underwritten – it is worthless. It just looks and sounds as though you are protected against shoddy workmanship.
We will dismantle our building from 1st May, just 4 of us, with no demolition experience (to keep all our costs down) if you have any building experience and can lend us half a day, that would be much appreciated, in what, is a very stressful situation.
To try and keep this post positive, we have decided to try and make a Shepherd’s Hut from the building's material, using the wasted wood. If anyone has any ideas of anywhere, we could secure a metal frame for the Shepherds Hut, please feel free to get in touch. This will create a Men in Sheds project.
Our eternal thanks and gratitude go to #gwt, #wessexwater, #networkplus, #bristolwater for their extensive support in installing a rainwater harvesting and water treatment plant when we were in deep despair.
Lastly, to anyone who has personally experienced Cowboy Builders, know you are not alone. We have learned of many similar cases and heard soul destroying stories, we share your desperation and feel your pain. The world can be a cruel place, when some people live by deception and have no moral code, but we will continue to fight, and will be here to support those that need us the most.
We have officially got our planning permission!
A huge thanks to everyone who submitted supportive comments on our planning application, we could not have done it without you.
This was our first-ever fundraising campaign to raise money for our big build.
We did it!! On 11th March 2022 we successfully raised £6,588 ( + est. £1006.50 ) with 95 supporters in 42 days
